As the Asia Cup 2025 final just around the corner, all eyes turn to Pakistan’s batting lineup and one pressing question: will Saim Ayub will be playing against India? Here’s what Salman Ali Agha said in a pre-match conference.

Due to his inconsistent form and recent demotion to one down in the Asia Cup 2025 have sparked fierce debate – and now, fans are speculation if he is playing in the final against India?

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha during a pre match conference expressed confidence in young south paw Saim Ayub ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 final against India.

While responding to a journalist, Agha strongly hinted that Saim will feature in the high-stakes clash.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Salman Ali Agha acknowledged Saim’s inconsistent batting form but stressed his valuable contributions in every match if not with bat but with ball and filed, underlining his importance to the team’s balance.

“He may not have batted very well, but he is playing his role in bowling and fielding. I am confident he will deliver in the final,” Salman remarked.

The captain further stated that pressure would be equal on both teams in Sunday’s title clash. He added that the side making fewer mistakes would ultimately walk away with the trophy.

Rejecting media noise, Salman said Pakistan were fully focused. “We will try to give our hundred percent in the final. We do not care what Indian media says about us,” he emphasized.

On the handshake controversy between India and Pakistan players, Salman Agha called it unusual. “Even my father, a lifelong cricket fan, said he had never seen two teams avoiding handshakes,” he noted.

When asked about Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav skipping photoshoots, Salman downplayed the matter. “If he wants to do a photo shoot, do it. If he does not want to, that is his choice,” he said.

Meanwhile, Salman, head coach Mike Hesson, and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf inspected the playing surface. Officials confirmed the same pitch used in the September 14 and 21 Indo-Pak encounters will host the final.

The Asia Cup final between arch-rivals Pakistan and India will be played in Dubai on Sunday at 7:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time, drawing global attention to the blockbuster contest.
