Pakistan has announced an extension of its airspace ban on Indian aircraft, continuing restrictions until October 23 as tensions between the two neighbours show no immediate sign of easing.
According to a new NOTAM issued by the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA), the closure of Pakistani airspace for Indian flights will remain in place for another month.
The restriction, initially imposed on April 23, was last extended to September 23.
Media reports confirmed that Indian-registered or leased aircraft also remain barred from flying through Pakistani skies under the renewed directive.

Indian airlines have incurred losses exceeding Rs 35 billion due to longer routes and higher fuel expenses caused by the extended ban on transiting Pakistani territory, as per media reports.
Aviation experts believe the move underscores persistent friction between Islamabad and New Delhi, despite isolated calls from trade and travel sectors urging a review of the measures for regional connectivity.
The airspace remains off-limits to all categories of Indian aviation, including scheduled passenger services, cargo flights, and military aircraft, significantly complicating travel logistics between India and several destinations in Europe and the Gulf.
Pakistan maintains the closure stems from ongoing bilateral tensions, though authorities have not indicated when they might review the policy.
