In a notable development ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, Irfan Pathan – despite being one of the vocal figures supporting the boycott against Pakistan – has been signed on as part of the official commentary panel for the tournament.

The tournament, which is set to begin on September 09 at the neutral venue – the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced the commentary panel for the Asia Cup 2025.

The commentary for the Asia Cup 2025 will officially be conducted in two languages – English and Hindi, while the panel consists of 15 former international cricket players, with 10 of them from India, three from Pakistan, 1 from Sri Lanka, and 1 from New Zealand.

The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format and feature eight teams in two groups from the said region.

Group A:

Pakistan, India, UAE, and Oman.

Group B:

Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.

Pakistan, after a dominant win of the tri-series, is entering the tournament with full confidence and will start their Asia Cup campaign against Oman on September 12.

The high-voltage match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled to be held on September 14. The Green Shirts will wrap up their group stage on September 17 against the hosts UAE.

The top two teams from each group will move to the Super Four stage; however, if they qualify, another Pakistan-India showdown can take place on September 21.

The final will be played on September 28, with the two top-performing teams battling for the title.
