The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a ban on heavy vehicles throughout the city on the 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. This decision aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during religious processions and rallies.

Officials report that various processions and gatherings are planned on main roads and connecting routes. This situation led to the decision to restrict trucks, trailers, oil tankers, and other heavy vehicles. The goal is to reduce congestion and avoid possible security issues as large crowds gather for the occasion.

Authorities stressed that the traffic plan will focus on the safety and convenience of citizens, especially those participating in the rallies and processions. The ban will remain in effect until the end of the events each day. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with traffic police and plan their travel in advance.

The announcement follows the upcoming 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, also called Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), which will be observed on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with great enthusiasm across Pakistan. The day honors the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and is usually marked with processions, Mehfil-e-Milad gatherings, mosque decorations, and charitable activities.

Karachi police officials mentioned that alternative traffic arrangements will be set up to help light vehicles move. More police personnel will be stationed along procession routes to manage security and enforce the ban.
