In a recent development, the authorities decided to eliminate paper-based documentation across 111 police stations in Karachi.
According to ARY News report, Sindh Police has decided to fully activate the online Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS).
IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, stated that all police stations and investigation departments in Karachi will transition to the online PSRMS system within one month.
He stated that other divisions will be completely digitalized within two months, and in the coming months, efforts will be made to make police stations and investigation departments totally paperless across the province.

IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon directed officers and staff members to undergo training courses to get used to the online PSRMS.
Memon expressed hope for improvement in the case detection rates and directed newly recruited ASIs to be assigned to the investigation department.
How many police stations are in Karachi?
According to data available on the Sindh Police website, Karachi has a total of 111 police stations spread across its various districts.
The Central district has 24 police stations, the District City has 12, East has 19, Keamari has 13, the Korangi has 10, the Malir has 12, the South has 13, and the West has 8 police stations. This distribution reflects the extensive network of law enforcement offices across the city to manage and maintain public safety.
