Electricity theft is one of the major issues K-Electric faces in Karachi. According to KE, power theft results in line losses, frequent power outages, and financial setbacks.

These effects also impact law-abiding consumers who do pay their bills on time and are not involved in any illegal activity related to power consumption.

To avoid these hurdles and assist KE in removing these illegal connections, the citizens can also report power theft through KE’s official channels.

1. Call the 118 Response Centre

Dial 118 or (021) 99000 and request to report electricity theft.

NOTE: You have to inform the KE operator if you would like to keep your identity confidential.

2. Email

Send an email to speakup@ke.com.pk along with the following information.

Details of the theft (location, description)

Any supporting evidence (photos, videos)

Also, add if you want to remain anonymous or not.

3. Via KE Live App/Portal

The users can also report the theft using KE Live app.

Use the Speak Up option

Provide a description of the incident

Upload visual proof (images/videos)

Your identity will be kept confidential

4. SMS – via 8119

First, register by sending:

REG <Your 13‑digit account number>

to 8119. Then send:

CHAT <Your message about theft>

to report the issue. Ensure to ask for anonymity.

5. WhatsApp

Save 0348‑0000118, send “Hi” to start conversation, and you can report theft through this dedicated channel.

Describe the theft and request confidentiality.
