The investigation commission head, Azad Khan, revealed that journalist Khawar Hussain’s recovered mobile phone had its data reset, and forensic experts are now working to retrieve vital information from the mobile phone.
Addressing a press conference in Sanghar, Khan stated that Hussain’s vehicle, mobile phone, and licensed pistol have been sent for forensic analysis; meanwhile, the CCTV footage of his route from Karachi to Sanghar is also being collected for review.
Journalist Khawar Hussain has reportedly two mobile phones, but the police officials only found one mobile phone in the vehicle. However, investigators suspect that his second phone may be with family members, who will be contacted for cooperation.
Khan said the reset phone poses challenges, but experts remain hopeful of recovering deleted files. He added that after the burial, the commission will meet Hussain’s family to uncover more details.

The inquiry head stressed that all aspects are being examined. He clarified it is too early to declare whether Hussain’s case involves murder or suicide until reports confirm circumstances.
Earlier, Hussain’s body underwent a second postmortem at Hyderabad’s Civil Hospital. The medical board, led by Police Surgeon Dr. Waseem, collected five biological samples for detailed laboratory examination.
Dr. Waseem confirmed Hussain sustained a single bullet injury, with no other marks on his body. However, the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed as murder or suicide.
The medical board’s final report will be issued after analysis, though the preliminary report is expected within two to three days, offering initial insights into the suspicious case.
