The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested suspects involved in a passport scam and a major fraud case.

The FIA confirmed that one group tricked citizens with promises of urgent passport issuance, while another swindled Rs9 million from a citizen’s bank account.

According to media reports, the FIA carried out two separate operations. In Quetta, FIA Balochistan Zone launched a crackdown against the passport mafia and arrested a suspect red-handed. The suspect had been taking money from citizens in exchange for the urgent issuance of passports.

FIA spokesperson stated that the suspect, identified as Abdul Malik, was caught outside the Chaman Passport Office. At the time of his arrest, FIA officials recovered 13 Pakistani passports, 51 tokens, 48 data forms, nine verification forms, and a mobile phone.
