The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that mobile companies are offering free on-net voice calls in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to help people stay connected.
PTA said telecom users in these regions are being facilitated to contact their families and emergency services without charges. The initiative aims to reduce communication barriers during rescue and relief operations.
According to the authority, over 72 percent of affected telecom sites have been restored. Efforts are underway to ensure full restoration of services in the shortest possible time.
The PTA reiterated its commitment to uninterrupted connectivity for users in disaster-hit areas and confirmed that its monitoring teams are closely tracking the performance of telecom services.
