The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain with thunderstorms starting Sunday evening or night, with light to moderate showers expected across Karachi until August 22.
According to the Met Office, sea breeze has returned to Karachi, but the “feel like” temperature remains one to two degrees higher due to increased humidity levels across the metropolis.
Rain-bearing clouds are likely to develop by evening, leading to drizzling or light rainfall in different parts of Karachi. This rain spell is expected to continue until Thursday.
The PMD earlier warned of scattered heavy rainfall in Sindh districts including Mithi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Tando Allahyar, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur and Jacobabad.

Meteorologists explained that strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are currently penetrating Pakistan. A low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify this monsoon activity.
Officials confirmed that a westerly wave is also present over the country, adding further strength to the ongoing monsoon conditions that will impact both Sindh and Balochistan.
Balochistan districts, including Zhob, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, and Musakhel, are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall between August 17 and 21.
On Saturday, the Met Office cautioned that torrential downpours may trigger urban flooding in major cities, urging residents and authorities to take precautionary measures in advance.
Authorities have also advised fishermen and travelers to remain alert due to possible disruption of routine life in case of heavy rainfall or strong winds in coastal areas.
