In a major relief for citizens, K-Electric (KE) has officially declared two areas in Karachi as load-shedding-free.
According to details, KE has declared Jamia Cloth and Burns Road as load shedding-free areas, citing improved bill collection and reduced line losses as key factors in the decision.
A K-Electric spokesperson said the achievement was the result of joint efforts between the power utility and local consumers, who ensured timely payments and cooperation in preventing electricity theft.
The spokesperson added that the utility’s long-term vision includes making 90 percent of Karachi load shedding-free by 2030, with similar initiatives planned for other areas showing improved performance.
According to K-Electric, timely payment of bills and prevention of illegal power connections remain essential for reducing and eventually eliminating load shedding in remaining parts of the city.
The company has urged residents in all neighborhoods to actively participate in reducing losses and improving recovery rates, which directly contribute to uninterrupted power supply.
