Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has declared that Pakistan will compel India to honour the Indus Waters Treaty; otherwise, Karachi will seize all six rivers.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the New Hub Canal, Bilawal said the project, completed in partnership with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), will supply an additional 100 million gallons of water daily to Karachi.
He praised the efforts of the Chief Minister and the Mayor, promising more water for areas like Lyari in the near future.
Bilawal emphasised that the provincial and local governments are working in coordination to address water needs.

However, he criticised the federal government, saying Karachi has received “Shahbaz Slow” instead of “Shahbaz Speed.” He remarked that rapid progress should not be reserved for Punjab alone while Karachi lags behind.
Highlighting development, the PPP leader claimed that unprecedented infrastructure projects are underway in Karachi and Hyderabad, visible to the public.
On the Indus Waters Treaty, Bilawal alleged that India suffered a major diplomatic defeat and is now acting out of desperation.
He accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of copying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s tactics and conspiring against Pakistan.
Bilawal warned that any attempt by India to break the treaty would be met with strong resistance.
He stressed that the people of Karachi understand how to protect the Indus River system and would “snatch six rivers” if necessary.
