The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) announced the groups for the Over 40s T20 World Cup on Monday, with the tournament set to commence in Karachi on November 21 this year.
This event marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time the Over 40s World Cup is played in the T20 format.
Group one consists of hosts Pakistan, along with West Indies, South Africa, Hong Kong, Canada, and the UAE. Meanwhile, Group two features Australia, the USA, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Saudi Arabia, and the Rest of the World, showcasing a diverse range of cricketing nations participating in the tournament.
The tournament is expected to be a high-profile veterans’ event, with notable cricketing stars such as Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, and Kamran Akmal anticipated to participate.

This adds an exciting dimension to the competition, drawing attention from cricket fans worldwide.
Pakistan has an impressive track record in veterans’ cricket, having previously won the Over 60s World Cup in Brisbane (2022), the Over 40s Global Cup in Karachi (2023), and the Over 50s World Cup in Colombo (2025).
A total of 42 matches will be played across various venues in Karachi, with all of Pakistan’s matches scheduled to take place under floodlights, enhancing the viewing experience for fans.
The PVCA explained that the tournament was initially planned for December 1 to 13 but had to be rescheduled due to the 35th National Games, which are set to occur in Karachi from December 6 to 13.
The new dates for the Over 40s T20 World Cup are now November 21 to December 1, ensuring a seamless transition between events.
