In a move to modernize and streamline immigration services, the government of Pakistan has established separate immigration counters for foreign passengers.

These are located at all major international airports across the country. The directive was issued by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to improve passenger experience. It also aims to align immigration processes with international standards.

According to ARY News, the newly established counters aim to reduce delays and facilitate smoother processing. They target foreign tourists, investors, and business delegations.

The airports in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, and Sialkot have all completed the installation of these dedicated immigration points.

The initiative is expected to benefit not only foreigners entering Pakistan but also overseas Pakistanis returning home. This will be achieved by easing congestion and enhancing service quality at arrival terminals.

A spokesperson for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) confirmed that best practices in immigration services are being implemented nationwide. These upgrades are part of a broader effort to enhance Pakistan’s global image. It will make the country more accessible to international travelers and investors.

Officials believe that smoother immigration experiences will help encourage tourism and promote foreign investment, supporting the national economy.
