The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a gas shutdown in Karachi tonight due to scheduled infrastructure work near Jam Sadiq Bridge.
As per the official alert, gas supply will be completely suspended from 10:00 PM tonight to 6:00 AM tomorrow to allow safe execution of the first phase of pipeline shifting.
This major 24-inch diameter gas line is being relocated as part of Karachi’s ongoing BRT Yellow Line development.

The gas suspension will affect several residential areas including:
- DHA all Phases
- Defense View
- Akhtar Colony
- Azam Basti
- Qayyumabad
- Clifton Block 3, 5 and 6
SSGC has issued an apology for the inconvenience and requested residents in these zones to arrange alternative fuel sources for cooking or heating during the outage.
Officials stated that this is part of a planned infrastructure upgrade, and every safety precaution is being taken during the process to avoid extended disruption.
Residents are urged not to panic and are reminded that gas will be restored by 6:00 AM, once the activity is completed and line safety is ensured.
