The Saudi General Directorate of Passports has announced a 60-day grace period for visitors with expired visit visas. This initiative started on July 26, 2025 (1st Safar 1447 AH).
It applies to all types of visit visas, regardless of name or purpose. The goal is to help visitors exit the Kingdom legally and without penalties.
Visitors can extend their visas, but only for the purpose of final exit. This allows time to arrange travel and clear any dues.
Before applying for extension, visitors must check and pay outstanding fees or fines. Payments must be made through the official “Sadad” system via banking channels.

The directorate said the move supports compliance with residency laws. It also reflects Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian approach in handling visa violations.
Authorities urge all eligible individuals to act within the given timeframe. Delays could result in legal consequences.
This effort is part of Saudi Arabia’s push to offer flexible, organized, and secure solutions for visa holders in violation.
