The Sindh government has introduced a new condition for public departments before issuing job orders to candidates. Here’s what you need to know:

Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah issued strict instructions in an official letter to all secretaries, commissioners, and deputy commissioners across the province, directing them to follow the new condition before appointing any individual.

This step follows Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s dissatisfaction with departments failing to verify documents before recruitment.

What are the new conditions?

The new rule requires verification of educational certificates from the relevant board before issuing any employment order to a candidate applying for a government job.

Similarly, Computerized National Identity Cards must be verified by NADRA, while domiciles and Permanent Residence Certificates (PRCs) will only be accepted after verification by the concerned Deputy Commissioner.

The letter also states that any other documents submitted by candidates must go through proper verification channels before the issuance of job orders.

According to officials, offering jobs before this process has led to legal complications. Many individuals with fake documents file lawsuits after being appointed, dragging departments into lengthy court cases.

The Chief Secretary noted that due to a lack of interest or weak legal follow-up, many fake applicants eventually secure jobs, damaging the system’s credibility. All provincial departments and subordinate institutions have now been strictly directed to ensure compliance with the verification rule.

The letter makes it clear that any department or officer ignoring this policy will face strict action. Sindh’s latest order aims to restore merit and eliminate fraud from government hiring processes across the province.
