According to police officials, medical lab staff are accompanying police teams to collect vehicle documents, licenses, and blood samples from drivers operating large trucks and buses across the city.

This initiative aims to identify and stop drivers using alcohol or other intoxicants while driving heavy vehicles.

A spokesperson for Karachi Traffic Police stated that those who test positive will face license cancellation and legal action as per the law.

The crackdown involves increased deployment of traffic personnel at key checkpoints and highways where heavy vehicles frequently travel.
