Pakistani cricketers have experienced a significant decline in the latest ICC T20I rankings following inconsistent performances in the ongoing series against Bangladesh.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris dropped 20 places to 50th, while opener Saim Ayub fell three spots to 64th and top-order batter Hassan Nawaz plummeted 22 places to 68th.
Even star players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who are not part of the current squad, saw minor drops, slipping one place each to 13th and 14th respectively.
Amid the downward trends, Fakhar Zaman showed a positive shift, rising eight spots to 79th with 426 rating points due to his disciplined batting against Bangladesh.
However, white-ball captain Salman Ali Agha struggled, managing only nine runs off 23 deliveries in the second T20I and subsequently dropping 18 places to 93rd.
The team’s batting inconsistencies have contributed significantly to their two consecutive losses in the series.
In the bowling rankings, Pakistan’s pace attack also faced declines, with Abbas Afridi slipping two spots to 22nd and Haris Rauf falling four places to 24th.
Shaheen Afridi, absent from the current squad, dropped two positions to 36th. On a brighter note, leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed improved by climbing 12 places to 49th, while vice-captain Shadab Khan fell four spots to 65th.
These rankings reflect Pakistan’s struggles in the series, emphasizing the need for stronger performances in future matches.
