A recent survey by the institute for Public Opinion Research shows that 89pc of Pakistanis consider democracy vital for the country’s development and stability.
Despite this strong support, 54pc of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the current democratic setup, while 43pc said they were satisfied.
When asked about the ideal system for Pakistan, 65pc favored democracy. Around 19pc preferred an Islamic system, 10pc backed a military-led government, and 1pc supported a technocratic model.
