A child kidnapping racket forcing minors into begging has been uncovered in Karachi, raising serious concerns about child trafficking and exploitation in the city.

The case came to light when a three-year-old boy, Hussain, who had been missing for two months, was spotted begging on the streets of Shah Latif Town. His uncle, Nasser, saw the child with a street beggar after coming out of a mosque and immediately recognized him.

Speaking to media, Nasser said, “My nephew had gone out to buy snacks when he disappeared. I never thought I’d find him like this.”

Police arrested the beggar, identified as Shehryar, who was forcing the child to beg. During interrogation, Shehryar confessed to earning Rs. 2,000 to 3,000 daily through begging. He also revealed that the child had been given to him by his father-in-law, Sultan.

Investigations suggest the involvement of a wider gang that abducts children and forces them into street begging for profit. Law enforcement agencies are now probing the network and looking into similar cases reported in other parts of the city.

The case has shocked residents and drawn public attention to the rising number of missing children and the lack of effective measures to protect vulnerable minors from such crimes.

Police officials have assured that efforts are being made to trace other children who may have fallen victim to the same gang. Authorities have urged parents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities immediately.

As the investigation continues, activists are calling for stricter laws and better implementation to combat child trafficking and exploitation in Pakistan.
