Karachi weather alert issued for July 21, warning residents of thunderstorms, possible urban flooding, and travel disruptions as strong monsoon currents move across southern Sindh.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts mostly cloudy skies with thunderstorms and rainfall in Karachi on Monday, July 21.
The city will experience humid and stormy conditions throughout the day.
According to PMD, the temperature will range between 32–34°C during the day, dropping to 28–30°C at night. Morning humidity will be 70–80 percent, while evening levels are expected around 60–70 percent.

Winds are likely to blow from the west and southwest, increasing in intensity during the thunderstorm period. Gusty winds may accompany the rainfall and reduce visibility in some areas.
Authorities have issued an alert for urban flooding in low-lying neighborhoods. Residents are advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary movement during heavy rainfall to prevent risk.
The PMD also warned of potential damage to fragile infrastructure, including old buildings, weak electric poles, and roadside billboards, due to gusty winds and intense rain spells.
Commuters are advised to monitor weather updates before setting out. Rainwater may accumulate on roads, leading to delays, low visibility, and slippery conditions in several parts of the city.
Beyond Karachi, the PMD expects moderate to heavy rain in districts like Hyderabad, Thatta, and Sukkur. Flash flood warnings have also been issued in vulnerable rural and semi-urban areas.
