Gold Prices in Pakistan see wild swings this week

Gold prices in Pakistan experienced sharp ups and downs during the week from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18, 2025, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA).

On Monday, the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs 1,600 per tola, reaching Rs 359,700, as global markets also surged to $3,372 per ounce.

On Tuesday, the gold price dropped by Rs 700, followed by a larger drop of Rs 3,000 on Wednesday, bringing the rate down to Rs 356,000 per tola, with international prices also falling to $3,335 per ounce.

The decline continued on Thursday, when gold prices fell by Rs 900 per tola, settling at Rs 355,100. Globally, gold was priced at $3,326 per ounce.

However, the trend reversed on Friday, as gold prices in Pakistan increased sharply by Rs 2,500, ending the week at Rs 357,600 per tola. International rates also rebounded to $3,351 per ounce.

The price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold followed a similar trend, closing the week at Rs 306,584. Silver rates also fluctuated slightly but remained relatively stable.

This week showed how global market trends can strongly impact local gold prices, keeping buyers and sellers on edge.
