The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced a detailed roadmap for the revival of football in Pakistan, aiming to restore the sport’s popularity and structure nationwide.

PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani addressed a press conference in Lahore alongside Vice President Hafiz Zakaullah and Punjab Executive Committee member Raja Amer Khan to unveil the future strategy.

He shared that FIFA President Gianni Infantino was satisfied with PFF’s recent elections, calling the result a good sign for Pakistan’s standing in international football governance.

Gilani said Pakistan football is no longer inactive and is entering a new era. The federation will work quickly on development projects to uplift the sport from grassroots to national level.

Two key FIFA projects will begin shortly. The first is the FIFA Arena Program, which includes modern mini-pitch construction, with two pilot projects starting in schools across the country.

The second is the Football for Schools program. The PFF is working with the government to promote the sport in educational institutions across all provinces through structured activities.

Talks are also ongoing with Spain’s La Liga, which is expected to help the federation with coaching, infrastructure, and technical development across Pakistan’s football ecosystem.

Gilani clarified that the records of older Goal Projects are incomplete. He said Disciplinary Committees alone would decide the future of banned officials without any outside pressure.

He stressed the need for a Professional League, calling it essential for long-term success. Work has begun, and the league will launch as soon as operational readiness is achieved.

The PFF also wants to promote women’s football. The President said female players are improving, and FIFA will support coaching, resources, and dedicated departments for women.

Financially, the federation plans to generate revenue through smart planning. Gilani believes football can become sustainable by running like a business, with better sponsorships and commercial deals.

He also confirmed strong ties with the federal government. A high-level visit by FIFA and AFC presidents is expected soon, further strengthening international football relations for Pakistan.
