The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain with strong winds and thundershowers for Karachi, starting tonight (July 18) and continuing intermittently until July 20.

The weather system is expected to bring isolated moderate to heavy rainfall, raising concerns about potential disruptions in the city.

According to the Met Office, monsoon currents are currently penetrating Sindh and are likely to intensify in the coming days.

Under these conditions, Karachi, along with other parts of Sindh including Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, and Shaheed Benazirabad, is expected to experience unsettled weather.

The rainfall may be accompanied by strong winds and occasional thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to stay cautious as heavy downpours could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The Met Office has also warned of potential damage to weak structures, such as kacha houses, electric poles, and billboards, due to strong winds and lightning.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel during peak rainfall periods and to stay updated on weather advisories.

Emergency services have been put on alert to respond to any weather-related emergencies.
