Nearly 50 percent of Pakistan’s population reportedly purchased used clothes over the past year, according to a recent Gallup and Gilani Pakistan survey.
The survey revealed that 48 percent of participants bought used clothes, including sweaters and coats, from the local Landa Bazaar.
Conducted nationwide from March 7 to March 22, 2025, the survey utilized Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) and gathered responses from 779 individuals in both urban and rural regions across all four provinces.
When asked about purchasing clothing from second-hand markets in the past year, 48 percent of respondents said yes, 51 percent said no, and 1 percent were unsure or chose not to respond.

Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, affiliated with the Gallup International Association, highlighted that the findings reflect the broad popularity of second-hand clothing in Pakistan, where affordability and necessity often outweigh he preference for new apparel.
Experts note that local Landa Bazaars have traditionally been a practical and budget-friendly choice for many, particularly during the winter seasons.
