Shocking findings have emerged from the post-mortem of Pakistani actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali, whose body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition earlier this week in Karachi’s Defence Phase VI apartment.

According to the preliminary report by Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, the body may have been lying undiscovered for eight to ten months.

As per the initial post-mortem report, Humaira’s body was severely decomposed, with facial features unrecognizable, muscle tissue largely absent, and some bones crumbling on contact. The brain had fully liquefied, and internal organs had turned into a black mass. No fractures were observed, and although the head and spine remained intact, the spinal cord was missing. Small brown insects were found in the hair, but no maggots were present.

Due to the extreme state of decomposition, the cause of death remains undetermined. DNA profiling and toxicology tests are underway to seek further clues. Samples of her hair, blood, and clothing have been sent for chemical analysis.

Humaira’s remains were discovered when police arrived to execute a court-ordered eviction.

After getting no response, they forced entry into the apartment around 3:15 PM and found her body on the floor. Humaira had lived alone for seven years and was reportedly last seen in October 2024.

Neighbors described her as reclusive, with little to no social contact.

Her remains were shifted to a welfare morgue and later collected by her family on Thursday. Sources revealed that the family initially hesitated to claim the body due to its condition. The body has now been transported to Lahore for burial.

Humaira Asghar was known for her participation in reality show Tamasha Ghar and a supporting role in the film Jalaibee.

Her death comes just weeks after the discovery of veteran actress Ayesha Khan’s body under similar circumstances, raising serious concerns about the loneliness and neglect faced by artists living in isolation.
