The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is facing a potential scheduling conflict with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2026, as reports suggest that the BPL may be moved to May due to the upcoming general elections in Bangladesh.

BPL chairman Mahbub Anam addressed the media on Thursday, indicating that the tournament might not occur in its traditional December-January timeframe.

This change is prompted by the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in January-February and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

With the PSL Season 11 and IPL 2026 also anticipated to be held during the April-May period, there is a significant possibility that all three T20 leagues could overlap.

“BPL slot may change due to the elections,” Mahbub stated. He further elaborated, “BPL [could be] before December, or another slot is being planned. We will take the next steps depending on the government’s decision, and in this regard, May [window] is another option.”
