The schedule for the highly anticipated Top End T20 Series 2025 has been officially unveiled, showcasing a record 11 teams from across the globe.
This year’s tournament promises to be a thrilling spectacle, featuring a mix of international sides, regional Australian teams, and academy squads from the Big Bash League (BBL) franchises.
Among the participating teams are five BBL academy squads: the Hobart Hurricanes, who are the reigning BBL 14 champions, along with the Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, and Adelaide Strikers.
They will be joined by international teams, including the Pakistan Shaheens, Bangladesh ‘A’, and Nepal.
The tournament will also see the debut of the Chicago Kingsmen from the USA, alongside two Australian domestic teams, the ACT Comets and NT Strike.
The tournament is set to kick off on August 14, with the opening match featuring the Pakistan Shaheens taking on Bangladesh ‘A’ at TIO Stadium in Darwin.
The Shaheens will continue their campaign with a series of matches, facing the Perth Scorchers on August 16, the Melbourne Renegades on August 18, the Adelaide Strikers on August 20, and Nepal on August 22.
The grand final is scheduled for August 24.
In last year’s edition, the Pakistan Shaheens demonstrated their prowess with a strong group-stage performance. They began their campaign with a victory over the Perth Scorchers, but faced a setback with a loss to the Melbourne Stars.
However, they quickly rebounded, securing wins against Tasmania, the Melbourne Renegades, Bangladesh ‘A’, and the Australian Capital Territory. Their impressive run led them to the semi-finals, where they ultimately fell to the Adelaide Strikers.
