‘Shoddy attempt at camp politics’: Field Marshal Asim Munir on India’s claim of China’s assistance to Pakistan

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has strongly reiterated that any misadventure, violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, or attempt to undermine its territorial integrity will be met with an immediate, decisive, and uncompromising response.

Addressing the graduating officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad on Monday, the Army Chief emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering resolve in the face of aggression. The graduating cohort included officers from all three armed services.

He warned that any hostile action targeting Pakistan’s civilian centers, military installations, economic zones, or critical ports would trigger a “deeply hurting and more-than-reciprocal response,” adding that the responsibility for any escalation would lie solely with the “strategically blind and arrogant aggressor.”

Field Marshal Munir criticized India’s failure to meet its military objectives during Operation Sindoor, stating that its attempts to rationalize this shortfall with convoluted reasoning reveal serious gaps in strategic foresight and operational preparedness. He dismissed claims of foreign assistance in Pakistan’s successful Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as baseless, calling such accusations a refusal to acknowledge Pakistan’s indigenous military capabilities and institutional resilience built over decades of strategic discipline.

He further stated that dragging other countries into a bilateral conflict is a poor attempt at camp politics, aimed at preserving India’s self-proclaimed image as a regional security provider. He noted growing regional skepticism toward India’s hegemonic aspirations and extremist Hindutva-driven policies.

Contrasting Pakistan’s approach, Field Marshal Munir highlighted Islamabad’s principled foreign policy built on mutual respect, diplomacy, and peace—positioning Pakistan as a force for stability in an increasingly complex regional environment.

He also underlined the evolving nature of modern warfare, stressing the importance of mental preparedness, strategic clarity, and professional excellence in countering hybrid, conventional, and sub-conventional threats. He commended NDU’s role in fostering civil-military harmony and preparing future leaders to address emerging security challenges.

“Wars are not won by media hype, imported weaponry, or political slogans,” he said. “Victory is rooted in faith, professionalism, operational clarity, institutional strength, and national unity.”

Expressing confidence in the battle-hardened Armed Forces of Pakistan, the Field Marshal urged the graduating officers to remain committed to integrity, selfless service, and unwavering loyalty to the nation.

Upon his arrival, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was warmly welcomed by the President of the National Defence University, Islamabad.
