Sindh minimum wage 2025

The Sindh Minimum Wage Board has proposed increasing the minimum monthly wage to Rs 40,000 for workers across the province.

A gazette notification was issued under the Sindh Minimum Wages Act 2015, detailing revised pay structures for different skill levels.

According to the proposal, semi-skilled workers would be paid Rs 41,280, while skilled workers are expected to receive Rs 48,910 monthly. Highly skilled workers would earn Rs 50,868. The proposed daily wage rate is Rs 192 per hour.

This updated structure reflects an 8.1 percent increase and, if approved, will be implemented starting July 1, 2025. The new rates will apply uniformly to all organizations, whether officially registered or not.

Rafiq Qureshi, Secretary of the Wage Board, stated that employers and stakeholders can submit objections or feedback within 14 days of the notice. The board will consider these responses before finalizing the decision.

Sindh Labor Minister Shahid Thahim assured that female workers will receive equal pay and stressed that legal action would be taken against employers who violate wage laws.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to dignity and protection for all workers.

“We want to ensure the sweat of our workers does not go to waste. Their hard work deserves fair compensation,” the minister said.
