Asia Cup 2025: India vs Pakistan likely on Sep 7

India vs Pakistan

The Asia Cup 2025 is expected to begin on September 5 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with a highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash likely to be scheduled for September 7, as reported by Indian media.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has almost finalized a 17-day tournament window, expected to take place between September 5 to September 21.

India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the UAE will compete in the group stage and Super Fours format, giving fans the chance to witness at least two India-Pakistan matches in Asia Cup 2025.

According to the tentative schedule, the second India vs Pakistan game may take place on September 14.

Promotional activities have already begun, and official broadcaster Sony released the tournament poster, signaling preparations are in full swing and government clearances are nearly completed, as reported by the Times of India.

India is the official host, but matches will be played in the UAE due to political tensions with Pakistan, providing a neutral venue to ensure the clash of arch-rivals takes place.

Officials and broadcasters see this Asia Cup as a litmus test for future Indo-Pak matches, particularly with tensions affecting bilateral cricket in recent years.

The Asia Cup format will continue to alternate between ODIs and T20s, with the 2027 edition in ODI format, 2029 returning to T20, and the 2031 edition also in ODI format hosted by Sri Lanka.
