Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has finalized the design for e-Gates at Pakistani airports, specifically Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, marking a major step toward automated border control in the country.
The milestone was achieved after a three-day consultation with aviation stakeholders.
The e-Gates will use biometric authentication to ease passenger processing, reduce wait times, and enhance security at these major international hubs.
The design phase, completed in collaboration with international aviation experts, sets the stage for the technical development.
German firm M2P Consulting has now been tasked with drafting technical specifications and preparing tender documents to attract top global e-Gate providers.
This project is part of the PAA’s broader vision to modernize airport infrastructure and introduce smart travel solutions for improved passenger experience across the country.
