Sindh introduces new policy for teachers’ appointments, transfers

Teacher Appointment Transfer Policy Sindh

The College Education Department Sindh has officially implemented a comprehensive policy regarding the appointment and transfer of teaching faculty across the province.

According to the new policy, BS-17 and above teachers may be transferred anywhere in Sindh on administrative grounds or urgent need, subject to vacancies in the budget book.

Each college will now ensure the presence of at least one subject-specific teacher, provided students are enrolled in that subject.

Colleges lacking teachers will receive new appointments, while staff surpluses will be reallocated based on student-teacher ratios.

The department clarified that domicile will not restrict transfers, although initial appointments will still consider local domiciles for convenience.

Teachers of non-required subjects may be posted outside their domicile districts if needed.

From the academic year 2025–26, transfer applications will only be processed during summer and winter breaks to avoid disruptions. Emergency cases may be considered with strong justification.

Transfers between male and female colleges are allowed but discouraged, and will only happen when absolutely necessary.

This policy takes effect immediately and aims to enhance educational quality and ensure fair teacher distribution across Sindh.
