A mild earthquake struck Karachi’s Quaidabad area on Saturday, June 1, 2025, at 5:33 PM PST, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The earthquake measured 3.6 on the Richter scale with a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter was recorded at latitude 24.31°N and longitude 67.25°E, near Quaidabad, a densely populated locality in the city’s eastern zone.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been received. However, the tremors were slightly felt in surrounding neighborhoods, causing brief panic among residents.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm but vigilant, especially in areas with older infrastructure.
Mild earthquakes of this nature are common in the region and generally do not cause significant damage, meanwhile, the PMD continues to monitor seismic activity in the area.
