With Eid ul Adha just days away, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest forecast for the religious festival in Karachi.
According to the PMD forecast, Karachi will witness hot and humid weather during Eid days, warning citizens to prepare for uncomfortable conditions.
On Eid days, southwesterly winds blowing at 13 km/h will offer little relief, and daytime temperatures may rise by 3°C to 4°C above the average, increasing the risk of heat-related illness.
Deputy Director Anjum Nazir said that no rainfall is expected during the Eid holidays, and according to the BBC weather report, temperatures in Karachi during June 7-9 will likely range between 35°C to 37°C.
The PMD has already cautioned that June will bring extreme heat to the city. Humidity levels will remain high, around 75 percent, intensifying the discomfort for Karachi residents.
Nationwide, similar weather trends continue. In Sindh, Nawabshah is expected to hit 47°C, Sukkur 45°C, and Hyderabad around 44°C, while Karachi remains slightly cooler but still oppressive.
Other cities such as Lahore may see 41°C, Multan 43°C, and Peshawar 39°C. Quetta will stay relatively mild with a maximum temperature of 32°C, according to national forecasts.
Meteorologists have strongly advised citizens to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, stay hydrated, and remain indoors as much as possible, especially during the afternoon.
With no signs of monsoon rains or western disturbances in the current weather pattern, Karachi’s residents may have to endure prolonged heat without any rain relief.
Whereas in Karachi, he said that daytime temperatures were expected to rise by 3°C to 4°C above normal levels, adding to the discomfort for citizens.
