PM approve holidays for Eid ul Adha 2025

Eid-ul-Adha holidays in Pakistan

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has officially approved public holidays for the sacred festival of Muslims – Eid-ul-Adha 2025.

According to media reports, PM approved public holidays for Eid – giving citizens a four-day break to celebrate the religious occasion.

The reports highlighted that the holidays will begin on Friday, June 6, and continue till Monday, June 9, giving the public an extended weekend to mark the festival.

A formal notification from the government confirming the holiday schedule is expected to be issued shortly.

However, Eid ul Adha 2025 will be celebrated across Pakistan on Saturday, June 7, according to the Islamic calendar and the official moon sighting.

Markets, cattle farms, and meat vendors are seeing a rise in activity as families prepare for Qurbani rituals.

Government offices and most private sector organizations will remain closed during this period. Travel bookings and intercity transport are also expected to increase as people return to their hometowns.
