Police arrested three members of the notorious Fahad Shooter Gang, also known as the Burmese Gang, in a late-night encounter near Karachi’s Korangi area.
According to SSP Muhammad Tariq Nawaz, officers from Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) police station intercepted the suspects near Ibrahimi Mosque as they roamed the KDA Employees Society with alleged criminal intent.
The suspects – when signaled to stop – opened fire at police, prompting retaliatory action by the authorities.
As a result, three suspects were arrested, including two injured in the exchange of fire. One suspect was apprehended without injury.
The police officials recovered weapons, stolen motorcycles, and mobile phones from the gang.
The Fahad Shooter Gang is accused of operating across multiple areas of Korangi district, reportedly involved in violent crimes.
SSP Nawaz said the gang is responsible for killing a youth named Osama and another young man near a medical store earlier this year in the Zaman Town police limits.
The suspects are currently under investigation, with further raids expected as police continue efforts to dismantle organized gangs in the area.
