The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene on May 27 for sight the moon of Zil Hajj, 1446 AH, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The meeting, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, will take place at Kohsar Block, Islamabad.

The committee will review evidence of the moon sighting gathered from across the country through Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees, who will meet simultaneously in their respective provincial headquarters.

Expected Dates for Eid ul Adha 2025 in Pakistan

If the moon is sighted on May 27 (Zil-Qadah 29), Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6. If not, Eid will fall on Friday, June 7.

However, astronomers suggest the moon is more likely to be visible on May 28, pushing Eid celebrations to June 7, as per lunar visibility forecasts.

The final decision will be based on credible moon sighting testimonies, which will be officially announced by the committee following the meeting.

Eid ul Adha 2025 Holidays in Pakistan: What to Expect

With Eid expected on June 6 or 7, the public is looking forward to the official notification of Eid holidays.

As per tradition, the government is likely to declare multiple public holidays to facilitate the observance of religious duties such as Qurbani (sacrifice) and family gatherings.
