In the sixth round of the National Women’s T20 Tournament 2024-25, the Invincibles secured a convincing victory over Fatima Sana’s Conquerors at the National Bank Stadium, thanks to an outstanding performance from left-arm pacer Neha Sharmin Nadeem. Neha took 3 wickets for just 14 runs in her four overs, providing the Invincibles with a strong start by dismissing both opening batters for golden ducks and later bowling out Najiha Alvi for a run-a-ball 16, leaving the Conquerors struggling at 37-3.
Skipper Fatima Sana, who is currently leading the batting charts with 252 runs, managed to score 41 runs off 32 balls, hitting seven fours. She formed a partnership with Hafsa Khalid, who contributed 24 runs off 35 balls, but Fatima eventually fell to Tania Saeed, who also had a notable performance with figures of 2 wickets for 18 runs. The Conquerors were restricted to 107-8 in their 20 overs.
In response, the Invincibles chased down the target comfortably, reaching 108-2 in just 15.5 overs. Ayesha Zafar was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 47 runs off 35 balls, while Omaima Sohail remained not out on 44 runs off 41 balls. Their partnership of 91 runs for the second wicket ensured a smooth victory for the Invincibles.
In the other match at the Oval Academy Ground, the Strikers defeated the Stars by nine wickets, successfully chasing down a target of 98 runs in just 12.4 overs. Skipper Gull Feroza scored an unbeaten 37 runs off 42 balls, while player of the match Noreen Yaqoob contributed 28 runs off 21 balls, helping to establish a 56-run opening stand. Eyman Fatima finished the match with a quickfire 28 runs off just 14 balls.
Earlier, the Stars struggled after winning the toss and opting to bat first, slipping to 26-3 and then 55-5. Sana Urooj was the top scorer for the Stars with 19 runs off 17 balls, while Tuba Hassan managed to score 30 runs off 25 balls. The Stars ended their innings at 97-7 in the allotted 20 overs. For the Strikers, Anam Amin and Ayesha Bilal each took two wickets, while Noreen, Diana Baig, and Rehmat Noreen claimed one wicket each.
