  • Pakistan acted in self-defence under UN Charter: Attaullah Tarar

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated Pakistan acted in self-defence under the UN Charter after Indian aggression, targeting only military installations in a calculated response.

Speaking to the BBC, he dismissed India’s claims of civilian deaths and called Pakistan a responsible state avoiding collateral damage, unlike India’s historical targeting of civilians.

Tarar rejected any link to the Pahalgam incident, stressing it’s 200 km from the LoC, and criticised India for blaming Pakistan without evidence or proper investigation.

  • Punjab releases Rs2bn emergency funds

Punjab government has released Rs2 billion to deputy commissioners for immediate emergency measures after what it called India’s “cowardly attacks,” officials confirmed.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered the release, ensuring rations, medicines, fuel, and other essentials are stocked for public safety during this escalating situation.

Law enforcement, Civil Defense, and Rescue services across the province are on high alert as the region braces for potential emergencies and public needs.

Punjab’s Interior Department stated Pakistan’s armed forces are responding strongly to India’s aggression, with all agencies fully mobilised to support national defense.

  • PAF destroys India’s S-400 system

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) JF-17 Thunder have destroyed India’s advanced S-400 air defence system in Adampur using hypersonic missiles, according to official state media reports.

The S-400 system, worth $1.5 billion, was among India’s top-tier defence assets, now eliminated during Pakistan’s retaliatory military operation ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos’.

Seven Indian military sites were struck, including key air bases in Pathankot, Udhampur, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, along with a BrahMos missile storage site.

Pakistan launched this operation in direct response to Indian missile strikes that hit multiple strategic locations inside Pakistani territory earlier this week.

  • UK urges restraint amid rising Pak-Ind tensions

British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, urged India and Pakistan to show restraint as tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations continue to escalate this week.

She emphasized that the UK supports direct dialogue to de-escalate the situation and avoid further conflict, which serves no one’s interest in the current crisis.

Marriott reassured British nationals in Pakistan, advising them to stay updated on flights and safety through government websites and social media channels like X and Instagram.

She also confirmed that the British consular team remains available 24/7 to assist in any emergencies that British citizens may face during this period.

  • Pakistan launches cyber attack on Indian institutions

Pakistan has launched a large-scale cyber retaliation targeting India’s key government and defense-linked institutions, amid escalating tensions between the two countries, media reports said on Saturday.

The cyber attack reportedly compromised the websites of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telecommunication Company Limited (MTNL), Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), and the All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association.

Sensitive data was also extracted from the Unique Identification Authority of India and the Indian Air Force’s Maharashtra wing. Meanwhile, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Border Security Force (BSF) websites were also brought down.

Sources claim that over 2,500 surveillance cameras across India were hacked, while all commercial and domestic electricity meter records in Maharashtra were destroyed. The cyber operation has reportedly disabled 70 percent of India’s electricity feeder grid, causing major disruptions.

Pakistani hackers allegedly erased all content from the compromised Indian websites in what analysts are calling one of the most significant cyber offensives in South Asia in recent years.

  • India confirms one death after Pakistan’s retaliation

India on Saturday confirmed the death of a senior government official following Pakistan’s military operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, Iron Wall.

Raj Kumar Thappa, the district development commissioner of Rajouri in Indian-administered Kashmir, was killed in Pakistani shelling, confirmed the Chief Minister of Indian Occupied Kashmir. “I’ve no words to express my shock & sadness at this terrible loss of life. May his soul rest in peace,” Minister Omar Abdullah posted on X.

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also acknowledged the fatality. He confirmed Thappa’s death during a press conference in New Delhi.

Earlier, Pakistan launched airstrikes on multiple Indian military installations in retaliation for Indian missile attacks targeting Pakistani air bases. Islamabad claimed its air defense successfully intercepted most incoming missiles.

  • Pakistan launches ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos’ in retaliation

Pakistan launched ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos – Iron Wall’ retaliatory military operation early Saturday targeting seven strategic Indian military installations, state media reported.

The strike follows Indian missile attacks on Pakistani air bases earlier this week.

Security sources confirmed the targeted locations included the Pathankot, Udhampur, Gujarat, and Rajasthan air bases, as well as a key BrahMos missile storage site.

The operation marks the most extensive military action by Pakistan since tensions escalated on the border.

The Pakistani military stated the operation was a “measured and calculated” response to India’s unprovoked missile strikes that hit multiple locations inside Pakistan.

  • India launches missile attack targeting Pakistani air bases

India launched a missile attack on three air bases inside Pakistan, including Sheikh Zayed Airport, Noor Khan Airbase in the early hours of May 10, according to Pakistani military officials.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully thwarted the attack, and no damage to air force assets was reported.

A military spokesperson later confirmed that all operational facilities and equipment of the PAF remained secure following the missile strike.

The incident marks a sharp escalation in tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who have been trading accusations of aerial attacks and border violations since earlier this week.

  • Here’s what to know:

    • How it began: India launched military strikes on Wednesday, targeting what it claimed were “terrorist infrastructure” sites in Pakistan. The attack was in response to a recent massacre of civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir, which India blames on Pakistan—a charge Islamabad denies. Pakistan vowed a strong retaliation.
    • Jets downed: A senior U.S. official confirmed that Pakistani forces shot down at least one Indian jet during the cross-border strikes. Pakistan claims to have downed five Indian Air Force aircraft, including three Rafale jets. India has yet to issue a formal response to these claims.
    • Border clashes intensify: India accused Pakistan of launching multiple attacks along the western border and violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC). India’s military warned of forceful retaliation.
    • Casualties and drone warfare: Pakistan’s military reported killing 40 to 50 Indian soldiers along the LoC and claimed to have shot down 29 Indian drones across the country, from Rawalpindi to Karachi. India, in turn, said it intercepted Pakistani missiles aimed at Kashmir and Punjab—claims that Islamabad denies.
    • Panic in India: Explosions rocked Jammu city and Uri in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK), triggering blackouts and panic. Police in India’s Pathankot also reported blasts. Civilians have been fleeing affected areas, with 16 Indian deaths confirmed due to Pakistani shelling. Residents near the border, including in Amritsar, have been ordered to stay indoors.
