Pakistan India conflict: Trump tells India and Pakistan to ‘stop’ clashes

Pakistan India Live updates

Pakistan India conflict: Tensions soared on late Tuesday night as India launched missile strikes, reportedly named “Operation Sindoor,” on multiple cities in Pakistan, triggering panic and escalating fears of full-scale conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbors.

DG ISPR confirmed that Indian missiles were fired from within Indian airspace and struck Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Masjid Subhanullah in Ahmedpur Sharqia, Bahawalpur.

He condemned the attack as “cowardly and unprovoked,” warning that Pakistan’s response will come “at a time and place of its choosing.”

“No Indian aircraft entered Pakistani airspace,” the military spokesperson said, crediting the Pakistan Air Force’s high alert status for the swift defensive response.

Initial reports revealed the death of one child and serious injuries to a woman and a man.

The Indian operation, reportedly named “Operation Sindoor,” also targeted areas in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

According to Pakistan’s military, 31 civilians were killed, while New Delhi claims it struck “terrorist infrastructure.” Islamabad, however, insists the assault deliberately targeted civilians.

In retaliation, Pakistan shot down five Indian fighter jets, including Rafales, MiG-29s, and SU-30s.

France has confirmed that Pakistan downed at least one Indian Rafale fighter jet during recent hostilities against India, marking the first-ever combat loss of the French-made aircraft, according to CNN.

India has not confirmed the losses but reported at least 12 civilian deaths on its side due to Pakistani retaliatory shelling across the Line of Control (LoC).

The fresh conflict follows a deadly attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir last month that killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists. India blamed Pakistan, a charge that Islamabad denies.

With both countries claiming Kashmir in full and having fought three wars over it, the latest flare-up risks further destabilizing the region.

At least 31 innocent civilians were martyred and 57 others wounded in last night’s Indian strikes across Pakistani territory, confirmed Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry in a press briefing.

“Instead of engaging our military directly, the enemy has chosen to strike unarmed civilians,” he said.

He added that India’s actions expose its desperation and mark a dangerous escalation. “When we made life impossible for its terrorist proxies, India resorted to state-sponsored violence against civilians,” he stated.
