The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its bullish momentum on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining nearly one percent as broad-based buying in banking, cement and selected mid-cap stocks pushed the market to fresh highs.

The KSE-100 Index closed at 181,776.59 points, up 1,761.66 points, or 0.98%, from the previous close of 180,014.93.
During the trading session, the benchmark touched an intraday high of 182,007.03 points and a low of 180,626.92 points, reflecting sustained investor confidence throughout the day.
Trading activity remained strong across the market. Overall, 793.35 million shares were traded, generating a turnover of Rs40.31 billion through 450,423 transactions.
On the benchmark board alone, investors traded 345.78 million shares worth Rs30.51 billion.
Market breadth remained positive, with 283 stocks advancing, 180 declining, and 100 remaining unchanged out of 563 traded securities, indicating widespread buying interest.

Among the most actively traded stocks, The Bank of Punjab (BOP) led the volume chart with 66.02 million shares, gaining Rs1.25 to close at Rs36.00.
Unity Foods followed with 62.51 million shares, rising Rs0.76 to Rs11.90, while Cnergyico PK added Rs0.19 to settle at Rs11.25 after 56.22 million shares changed hands.
Security Papers Modaraba Bank Limited (TSBL) remained under selling pressure, slipping Rs0.07 to Rs2.39 despite trading 32.75 million shares.
Among the day’s strongest performers, Maple Leaf Cement Factory (MLCF) surged Rs5.15 to close at Rs103.09 on turnover of 30.41 million shares, reflecting renewed buying interest in the cement sector.

In the real estate segment, PACE Pakistan advanced Rs0.19 to Rs11.06 with 26 million shares traded, while WorldCall Telecom (WTL) edged down Rs0.02 to Rs1.22 after 22.09 million shares changed hands.
A day earlier, PSX turns to upward momentum, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index surging 2,931.71 points, or 1.66 percent, to close above the 180,000-point level amid broad-based buying across major sectors.
The KSE-100 settled at 180,014.93 points, compared with the previous close of 177,083.22.
During the session, the benchmark traded between 178,512.09 and 180,202.38 points, reflecting sustained buying interest and positive investor sentiment.
Trading activity remained robust, with KSE-100 companies recording a traded volume of 294.91 million shares worth Rs27.81 billion.
Across the broader market, total trading volume reached 740.56 million shares, while the traded value stood at Rs35.91 billion through 387,149 transactions.
