Under the latest revision, the ex-depot price of petrol has been reduced by Rs3.19 per litre, bringing the rate down from Rs333.01 to Rs329.82 per litre.

Similarly, the ex-depot price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been lowered by Rs1.50 per litre, decreasing from Rs383.86 to Rs382.36 per litre.

Petrol price updates

The Ministry of Energy said the revised prices were determined by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

According to the notification, the new petroleum prices will remain effective until tomorrow, when the next review is expected.

The latest reduction follows the previous fuel price adjustment announced a day earlier, in which the government increased petrol prices by Rs4.45 per litre, while reducing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2 per litre.

The frequent revisions in petroleum prices reflect changes under the government’s pricing mechanism, which considers international oil prices, exchange rate movements, and applicable taxes and levies.

The reduction in petrol prices is expected to provide some relief to motorists, while the lower HSD price could help reduce fuel costs for transport and logistics operators.
