Tianjin University (TJU) has announced the opening of applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk Road Program 2025.
This scholarship offers fully funded opportunities for students from Belt and Road countries, including Pakistan.
Pakistani students can apply for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs. The scholarship will cover full tuition, on-campus accommodation, medical insurance, and monthly living stipends.
Eligibility Criteria for Pakistani Students
Pakistani students are encouraged to apply if they meet the eligibility requirements. For Bachelor’s programs, applicants must be under 25 and hold a high school diploma.
For Master’s programs, candidates must be under 35 and have a Bachelor’s degree. PhD applicants should be under 40 and hold a Master’s qualification.
Language Requirements
Language proficiency is mandatory for all applicants. Chinese-taught programs require an HSK Level 5 certificate with at least 180 marks.
English-taught programs need either a TOEFL score of 80+, an IELTS score of 6.0+, or proof of an English-medium education.
Scholarship Benefits
The Silk Road Scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides free on-campus accommodation. Students also receive comprehensive medical insurance throughout their study period.
Monthly living stipends are included: 2,500 RMB for Bachelor’s students, 3,000 RMB for Master’s students, and 3,500 RMB for PhD students during the academic stay.
Application Timeline
The application portal is already open for submissions. The final deadline to apply is May 6, 2025, so students are advised to submit early.
Tianjin University will review applications from April 1 to June 10, 2025. The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will conduct a final review afterward.
Admission results are expected to be announced between July 1 and July 31, 2025. Successful students will register in late August or early September.

After TJU’s approval, applicants must also complete the CSC scholarship application.
Submitting all required documents on time is critical. Missing documents or deadlines can lead to disqualification from the scholarship selection process.
