Traffic advisory issued as repair work begins at KPT flyover

KPT Bridge development work

The Karachi Police has issued a traffic advisory as the repair work started on one track of the KPT Bridge in Korangi.

Development work will be carried out on one track of the KPT Bridge in Korangi from April 26 to May 26, 2025, which will disrupt traffic moving from Baloch Colony, Korangi, and Akhtar Colony.

During this period, the track going from Akhtar Colony to Korangi and Baloch Colony will remain open for vehicles, while the opposite track will be closed for development.

Drivers traveling from Baloch Colony to Korangi are advised to take the route via Qayyumabad Chowrangi (Hino Chowrangi) to avoid disruptions. Additionally, the route to Defense through FTC is another alternative.

For assistance or to stay updated, motorists can call the Traffic Police Helpline at Rahnama 1915, visit the Traffic Police Facebook page.

The KPT Flyover in Karachi will stay closed for a full month due to urgent repair and maintenance work, confirmed by city officials.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab stated that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) would begin structural repairs this week. The goal is to ensure safety and improve infrastructure in the area.

To help commuters, the Traffic Police have issued a diversion plan with alternate routes. Citizens are advised to avoid the KPT Flyover and follow the new traffic guidelines.

The closure comes amid rising public frustration over power cuts. Residents in Liaquatabad and Azizabad protested against long electricity outages, blocking major roads.
