National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency becomes independent authority

National Cybercrime Investigation Agency

In response to rising online threats, Pakistan has launched the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) as a fully autonomous body to tackle digital crimes.

The newly formed agency replaces the FIA’s Cybercrime Wing and now holds complete authority to investigate, prevent, and prosecute cyber-related offenses nationwide.

The NCCIA will actively handle cases involving digital fraud, harassment, identity theft, fake websites, blackmail, and social media-related criminal activities across all regions.

As a result, the FIA Cybercrime Wing has been dissolved. All public complaints and investigations will now be processed solely by the new agency.

Citizens must contact the NCCIA instead of the FIA for any cybercrime concerns. A helpline and email have been provided for quick response and support.

The NCCIA helpline is 0519106691, and complaints can also be emailed to [email protected] for timely action on cybercrime issues.

The public is urged to report suspicious online behavior or criminal digital activity directly to the NCCIA and avoid contacting the FIA for such matters.

For in-person assistance, citizens are advised to visit the nearest NCCIA circle office, where trained personnel will offer guidance and investigation support.

According to the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency spokesperson, this move aims to centralise operations and improve national cybercrime response capabilities.

With this new setup, the government aims to ensure faster, more effective action on cyber threats and provide better security for citizens online.
