PSP Leader shot dead in Karachi

Unidentified armed men have killed Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Abdul Habib near Five Star Chowrangi in Karachi on Monday.

According to the police, at least four unidentified assailants came on motorcycle and opened fire at the car of PSP leader Abdul Habib, which left him critically injured.

He was moved to a nearby medical facility where doctors pronounced him dead.

Sources claimed that at least four armed men on two motorcycle were involved in this attack. All were wearing pant shirts and among them two were wearing helmets too.

According to Police, 9mm and 30 bore pistols were used in the attack.

Police have recovered seven empty bullet shells from crime scene and have sent all for forensic examination.

Investigators have also shifted the car of PSP leader to the police station. The forensic examination of the car will also be conducted, said Police.

Investigators have also decided to conduct geofencing of the crime scene and also try to get all the footages of cctv cameras installed nearby.

Deceased Abdul Habib was candidate of PSP in General Elections 2018. He contested the general elections for the PS-122 seat and received 1,978 votes.

Habib was the resident of Metroville Block 3. He was also the member of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was associated with property business.

Condemning the incident, PSP chief Syed Mustafa Kamal demanded the provincial government to ensure the swift arrest of the culprits and their facilitators involved in the murder of his party leader.

PSP leader Asif Hasnain while talking to media outside Abbasi Shaheed Hospital have claimed that the Indian intelligence agencies are behind the killing.

Namaloom Afraad are targeting Pak Sarzameen Party and we had also demanded security from the government so many time but no one paid heed to it. Government should provide security to PSP Leaders,” Hasnain demanded.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Khurram Sher Zaman, have also condemned the murder of the PSP leader and said the Sindh government has completely failed to provide protection to the residents of the metropolis.

“Political workers are being targeted on a daily basis as Karachi’s peace is being disrupted under a well-thought out conspiracy,” he said.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah have also taken notice of the Killing. CM have asked additional IG Karachi to submit inquiry report on prior basis and arrest the culprits involved as soon as possible.
