The worst-affected region was Punjab, where 6,083 cases were recorded – 2,506 of which were sexual assaults, meanwhile, only 28 perpetrators were convicted in these cases.
Similarly, out of 445 physical violence cases, just 7 resulted in convictions, while no one was punished in 26 child marriage cases.
Sindh also saw disturbing trends, with 354 child abuse cases reported, yet zero convictions in 24 child marriage cases.
