New rules for Umrah visa holders announced

new rules Umrah visa

Saudi Arabia announces new rules for Umrah visa holders, restricting their entry into the Kingdom after the 15th day of the Islamic month of Shawwal.

The directive, issued by Saudi authorities, requires all airlines to strictly follow this rule or face legal consequences under aviation regulations.

Effective immediately, Umrah visa holders cannot board flights to Saudi Arabia after 15 Shawwal each year, as stated by the authorities on Sunday.

The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority warned that both the airline and the passenger may face legal action if the rule is not followed properly.

Airlines have been advised not to issue boarding passes to Umrah pilgrims attempting to travel after the deadline, as these entries are now restricted.

Authorities stated the new policy aims to control pilgrim flow and logistics during the peak travel period leading up to the Hajj season.

The decision helps Saudi Arabia manage operational loads at major airports and maintain order as international pilgrim numbers rise during the Islamic holy months.

All flight operators must immediately update their booking systems and coordinate with travel agents to implement the change without delays or confusion.

The regulation will be reviewed annually based on seasonal planning and operational demands, allowing adjustments if necessary in future religious travel schedules.

Saudi officials say this move aligns with broader efforts to streamline pilgrim entry processes and enhance the quality of service for Hajj management.

Travelers planning Umrah are urged to confirm their travel dates carefully and follow all entry requirements set by Saudi authorities.
